My wife dug this out of storage, and I have promised it to Oppo in the past. This is me at 18 with my first car, a Sparlingco Celica ST conversion. Oh, how I loved that car. This is the only surviving photo. It was metallic glittery brown, the stripe was orange and yellow, and the wheels were gold. I was so young.
I totaled that car like 3 months after this photo, and have never forgiven myself.

If that’s the only photo, I’d recommend taking it out of the frame and getting a good scan of. You hate to lose it and end up with only a photo of photo.

Reminds of those old rap lyrics.
“I’m n ot regula’ /evil angelica/smooth like a Celica/ not C hevrolet/but I’m the H eartbeat of America”
It wasn’t a popular song.

My reason for Prelude obsession was a red 1991 that lived down the street from me. I ended up owning it for a couple months after I had already had a couple of my own. It was worth it.

Great first ride for sure! My girlfriend in the early 90s had one of these in the Philly suburbs. Her dad bought it at a police auction. It was kind of dark brown, with a tan interior. We were in our early 20s and I have some great memories for sure, driving to the jersey shore with the top down. I was always a ragtop guy. I had a 75 Grandville convertible at the time. Still have the car. The girl moved on, but we were convertible buddies.
IM, did yours have a manual? Steph’s was a manual and it had some pep. I drove like a grandma back then, but i likes swinging it around the twists of bucks county.
